Earnest

Earnest is a fintech company that offers a merit-based, personalized, and empathetic way to actually pay off your student loans. Without having to resort to desperate measures.

So long, debt desperation.

Student debt is everywhere in the headlines. But no one’s talking about what it feels like—how it messes with your head, your bank account, and your housing situation.

Enter Earnest. A lender with an empathetic approach to student loans, and a personalized way to help you pay them off faster. To bring that to life, we tapped into the quiet desperation of borrowers everywhere—like imagining a life off the grid, living rent-free with a crew of gruff fishermen, just to make ends meet.

Because when you're buried in debt, even that sounds... kind of doable.

While our hero video leaned into over-the-top, cinematic desperation, social gave us the space to zoom in on the everyday sacrifices borrowers make just to stay afloat. Enter: This Is the Moment—a concept that met people mid-scroll with the painfully specific, sometimes hilarious choices they make to save money.

This Is The Moment

The concept worked because it was honest. It acknowledged the absurdity of the financial tradeoffs people make—and offered Earnest as a real, accessible way to feel a little less desperate.

Across film, social, and digital, our work with Earnest struck a balance between humor and humanity—showing borrowers they’re not alone in their stress and that there’s a smarter way out. By tapping into real emotions (and a few ridiculous scenarios), we helped reframe refinancing as something less intimidating, more accessible, and actually doable.
